World Mental Health Day

Sunday the 10th October is World Mental Health Day, an international day for global mental health education, awareness and policy advocacy.

The theme for 2021 is “Mental Health in an Unequal World”

For those of us experiencing mental illness, we live in an unequal world. There are no two ways about it. Stigma. Discrimination. Lack of support. Limited access to housing, employment and welfare – It is still a grave underlooked problem.

Things are slowly starting to change. The stigma around some mental health issues such as anxiety and depression have improved, but there is much more that can be done.

People living with severe mental illness still have a shorter life expectancy than others.

This is the reality of mental health in an unequal world.

This is inequality.

And it has to change.

This World Mental Health Day is your chance to speak out, spread the word and make change happen. Join Corporate Sports and find out more about how we can fight for mental health equality in your workplace.
